The Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA) is a registered association of approximately 3000 Advocates-on-Record. These advocates, qualified as per Order IV of the Supreme Court Rules, 2013, hold a unique position. They are solely authorized to file cases before the Supreme Court of India, a responsibility that sets them apart in the legal profession.
SCAORA, comprising Advocates on Record from across the country, is a testament to unity and integrity. Its members, representing a diverse range of legal practices and backgrounds, bring a broad perspective to legal issues. This diversity fosters a dynamic approach towards issue resolution for the welfare of all stakeholders.
SCAORA, a product of history, came into existence in the year 1985. Its first Executive Committee, elected at the General Meeting, managed the affairs of the Association. The committee, led by Mr. R.B. Datar (President), Mr. V.N. Ganpule (Vice-President), Mr. Kailash Vasdev (Secretary), Mr. Ranjit Kumar (Joint Secretary), Mr. M.S. Ganesh (Treasurer), and a team of Six Members viz., - Mr. K. Rajendra Chaudhry, Mr. Mukul Moudgal, Mr. Girish Chander, Mr. Raju Ramachandran, Mr. C.S. Vaidyanathan, and Mr. P.H. Parekh, laid the foundation for the Association's future.
